Tell Chevron: Stop Oil and Gas Expansion in Turtle Country
Chevron and Big Oil must stop building dirty energy projects on the backs of sea turtles!
Take Action to Defend the Sea Turtles from Big Oil
Thank you to the 2,030 people who sent an email letter to Chevron’s Board of Directors in May 2011 telling incoming Policy Director Linnet F. Deily that Chevron must change its ways before more sea turtles are harmed by oil spills and natural gas extraction. See letter below.
The deadly impacts to endangered sea turtles, whales and ocean biodiversity from Chevron’s massive new natural gas projects were exposed in the Chevron Alternative Annual Report that will be released on May 24. (STRP members can receive an exclusive hard copy of report with a donation to support sea turtle protection.) Read Report Intro here.
Sea turtles were also featured in one of a series of advocacy ads targeting Chevron’s human rights and environmental atrocities around the world. The turtle ad shows a heavily oiled turtle rescued during the Gulf of Mexico oil spill that illustrates the risk from oil and gas extraction. Ads courtesy of Rainforest Action Network.
