Stop Funding RRW, it's Time to Tell the Senate

We are storming the Senate to welcome them back from their vacation. Peace Action and our affiliates are gearing up for an amazing September - this is the start. The House Energy and Water Appropriations Subcommittee cut all the funding for the Reliable Replacement Warhead, an unnecessary and dangerous nuclear weapons program that could open the door to new nuclear testing. The Senate reduced the funding, but did not zero it out, which is why we need to tell them. S. 1914 will zero out funding for RRW and be a major step in the the anti-nuclear movement.

I am writing to ask in earnest that you, as my representative, co-sponsor S. 1914. Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) has written this bill. It would prohibit any funding for the Reliable Replacement Warhead until at least 2010. In the meantime, the administration would need to submit reports reevaluating the role of nuclear weapons in US security strategy. Please co-sponsor this bill and ask your fellow party members to support it as well. The prosperity and security of future generations depends on it.
