The MCLU supports workplace giving through MaineShare

Because Freedom Can't Protect Itself.

Dear friends,

Six weeks ago, the Maine Supreme Judicial Court recognized that the well-being of a child is more important than the gender of the parents.  Finally, Maine became the 29th state in the nation to allow unmarried couples, including same-sex couples, to adopt!

Please join us for a celebration and an important panel discussion on what this means, co-sponsored by the MCLU:
Thursday, October 25
Reception with the MCLU at 6:30 p.m.
Panel discussion at 7:00 p.m.
at the Law Offices of Bernstein Shur: 100 Middle Street (West Tower), Portland

Featuring Mary Bonauto (GLAD), Betsy Smith (EqualityMaine) and Marilyn Kirby, an adoptive mother.

Join us for discussion, celebration, and a bit of cake, and meet one of the adoptive mothers in this important case!
