Net Neutrality: Keeping Internet Free Speech FREE What is Net Neutrality? Until last year, net neutrality standards kept internet providers from playing favorites with the sites of companies that can pay more and discriminating against small companies and individuals that can't. But in 2006 the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) suddenly repealed longstanding Internet non-discrimination principles. Since then, the keys to the Internet have been turned over to a handful of profit-driven Telecoms and cable companies. Immediate restoration of well-established Net Neutrality principles is necessary to protect freedom and innovation on the Internet. If we don't act now, net neutrality and equality on the internet will be a thing of the past. You can read more about net neutrality here: http://www.maineinternetfreedom.com/ Take Action. You can also leave a message for your state Senator on the State Senate Message Phone: (800) 423-6900 The internet has always been an arena of democracy where every person could speak up and be heard. Together, we can keep it that way. Call today! Thanks for all you do. Rachel L. Myers |
