Dear friends, Senators Sununu and Akaka have introduced legislation to repeal the Real ID Act. Call Senators Snowe and Collins and tell them to reject Real ID, too! Last month, Maine became the first state in the nation to reject Real ID when the legislature voted overwhelmingly (34-0 in the Senate; 137-4 in the House!) for a resolution refusing to implement Real ID in Maine. Real ID has faced broad, bipartisan opposition in this state, and our Senators should take that message to Washington. Call Senators Snowe and Collins today and tell them not to settle for quick fixes that don't actually fix the law's civil liberties and privacy issues. Urge them to sign on to the Sununu-Akaka bill, to keep Real ID out of Maine and the nation! Senator Snowe: Senator Collins:
