‘Tis the season for giving and receiving – for reflecting on the past year and making resolutions for the new one.  Last year our resolution was simple:  “Stop More Bad Things From Happening to the Constitution.”  This year, we’re going to be bolder:  “Bring the Constitution Back to Its Healthy Weight.”  
 
Our wish list is long, but a few large goals have emerged at the top. 
1.) Do our part to bring back habeas corpus.
2.) Lead the way on the ACLU’s nationwide campaign to abolish REAL ID, the de facto national ID card.
3.) Hold the feds and phone companies accountable for illegal surveillance of Mainers.
4.) Restore public funding for medically necessary abortions for Maine’s lowest income women.
