So long as we have enough people in this country willing to fight for their rights, we'll be called a democracy.

The Bill of Rights turns 215!

Help us fight for your rights~
Join us at an Annual Meeting near you!

This month we celebrate the 215th Birthday of the Bill of Rights.  Come to an annual meeting and help us celebrate with plenty of free food and free speech!
Meet MCLU board members and staff, mingle with fellow civil libertarians, and hear about what we've been up to over the last year and what we look forward to in the next.

Plus, help us celebrate the difference local activism can make when we present
the Roger Baldwin Award for extraordinary civil liberties advocacy
to James "Doug" Cowie.

As you may remember, Doug led the way on the 10-person complaint to the Maine Public Utilities Commission to find out if Verizon was assisting the government in the warrantless surveillance of Mainers.  His idea became the model for an ACLU campaign in 20 states.

Both events are free and open to the public.
Join us as we eat, make merry, and celebrate our rights!

We'd love to know if you plan to attend.
