The MCLU supports workplace giving through MaineShare
Because Freedom Can't Protect Itself.
Dear Friends,
On July 3, a Maine couple was robbed of their personal property, their quality of life, and their freedom to live without fear.
That day, somebody broke into the Poland home of Linda Boutaugh and Keri Fuchs and destroyed most of what they own, including their furniture, their food, and their car, and wrote hateful messages about the couple's sexual orientation all over the walls.
All Mainers should be free to live without fear that their most personal and private place- their home- will be entered without their knowledge and their personal property ruined and stolen. Hate crimes based on ANYTHING, including sexual orientation, do not belong anywhere- especially not in Maine.
Media response to this crime has been virtually non-existent, so it is up to the rest of us to stand up and say that there is no place for hate crimes and discrimination in Maine.
To show your support for Linda and Keri, to speak out against discrimination, and to demand that law enforcement agents do their job to protect and serve ALL Mainers, join us for a rally:
This Saturday, July 22, 11 am Monument Square, Congress Street, Portland
