A Backdoor to War with Iran?
Some Members of Congress are trying to create a political "backdoor" to war with Iran by pushing a resolution expressing support for Israel's "right" to launch a military attack on Iran. Such an Israeli attack would be likely to draw the U.S. into war, so efforts to legitimize an Israeli attack constitute a stealth path to a U.S. war. Help Kucinich Use War Powers Act to Force Afghanistan Debate
Early this week, Congress is expected to debate and vote on Rep. Kucinich's privileged resolution, H. Con Res. 248, a resolution that calls for the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan by the end of this year. Even though the resolution is unlikely to pass, the debate over this resolution will likely prove to be an important step toward ending the war in Afghanistan.
