Take Action

Let’s Stop the “Most Wanted” Chemicals! It’s time for Congress to get serious about phasing out persistent, bioaccumulative toxins!

It is time to end the criminal careers of many persistent, bioaccumulative toxins (PBTs), the “most wanted” hazardous chemicals. This class of chemicals include some of the most notorious chemicals know to man – lead, PCBs, DDT, dioxin, mercury, and cadmium. Many PBTs, including flame retardants and the stain-resistant perfluorinated chemicals, are still found in products we use every day in our homes and places of work. Like you we are tired of unknowingly being exposed to PBTs in the products we use everyday.

Congress is on the verge of introducing legislation that would reform our broken chemical regulatory system. The legislation has great potential but it must include a phase out of PBTs to adequately protect human health and the environment.

Lets tell Congress to put PBTs on a pathway to phase out when it reforms the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). The “Most Wanted” chemicals must be stopped.
