Support International Family Planning

February 09, 2010 Subject: Dear Member of Congress We urge you support increasing family planning funding by $530 million from last year's level, including $63.5 million to the United Nations Population Fund in the State and Foreign Operations Appropriations Act. The U.S. must do its part for women, children, and a healthy environment. Today, some 200 million women want but do not have access to contraceptives, contributing to unnecessary deaths of some 500,000 young women from pregnancy and childbirth complications, and some 70,000 young women from unsafe abortions.
