Report back on Holt Bill -- Failure to Pass

On Tuesday, April 15, 2008 the U.S. House of Representatives voted on a bill that would have helped to ensure election integrity in time for the November 2008 election.  The bill received 57% support but needed a two-thirds majority to pass. I am writing you to urge that this bill be brought back for a vote where a majority vote is sufficient to pass, and that you support the bill when it is voted on again.

HR 5036 will provide funding for states to put in place voter-verified paper records and audit requirements in time for the 2008 general election.

Please send the letter below to your member of Congress IMMEDIATELY.  The U.S. House of Representatives needs to show overwhelming bi-partisan support for this bill so the Senate will quickly act and President Bush will sign the bill.
