In just 10 months, the Federal Reserve has lent trillions of taxpayer dollars to the banks. They refuse to tell us who they gave the money to and if we'll ever get it back. The Fed failed to stop bubbles from inflating, setting up, along with the banks, the conditions for the biggest crash since the Great Depression. They have been funding billion dollar CEO bonuses for the banks that sit on their boards of directors.

While they operate in a secret bureaucracy and oppose legislation that would audit them, Treasury's Geithner is proposing legislation to expand the powers of the Fed by making them the "supercop" for system-wide risk in the economy. In order to serve and be accountable to the entire public and our economy, the Fed must be reformed, not given new powers.
