Moral Imperative to Act on Climate Change

The Clean Energy Jobs and American Power Act has been introduced in the Senate, and you have the power to shape it if you let your voice be heard before the bill is marked up in early November!

A stronger, more equitable bill is needed to adequately protect our environment, economy, public health, and national security. As Unitarian Universalists, our faith calls us to promote justice, equity, and compassion for all people, as well as responsible stewardship for the earth. The cost of real change may be high, but the cost of failing to make change is much, much higher!

Please ask for support for three provisions in particular: a stronger reduction in emissions to match the latest science on what is sustainable, a transition to a clean energy economy, and funding for international adaptation.

The Senate climate bill falls short of what is moral and just, and we urge you to strengthen it before it comes to the senate floor.
