Keep Comprehensive Women's Heath Care in Reform Bill
Getting a Comprehensive Health Care Reform bill through the House of Representatives was a victory with too high a price: the loss of reproductive choices for millions of women.
The health care bill that passed on November 7th includes a ban on private abortion coverage that women already have and would prohibit it in the 'public option'.
Eliminating health care coverage for abortion eliminates access, which would effectively abolish the right to choose for most women.
As Unitarian Universalists, we believe strongly that all people have the right to comprehensive, high quality health care and that women should be able to make reproductive health decisions based on their own values.
We will take our demand to the Senate and all the way to the White House. Please take a moment to tell the your Senators and the President to protect women's health care as the debate moves to the Senate.
