Support H.R. 40, The Commission to Study Reparation Proposals for African Americans Act

H.R. 40 proposes establishing a Commission to examine slavery in the United States and its lingering negative effects. The Commission’s responsibilities would include recommending appropriate ways to educate the American public about their findings, and crafting a proposal for reparations, which, if passed by Congress, could lead to concrete actions to help rectify the deleterious impact of racism on black Americans. Edit the message below or leave it as is, and send it to your Congressional Representative to ask her or him to co-sponsor H.R. 40.
