Take Action: Cosponsor VAWA
The Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), originally passed in 1994, provides the most significant policy response to crimes of domestic and sexual violence, giving law enforcement officials, prosecutors, and judges the tools they need to hold offenders accountable and keep communities safe while supporting survivors.
Unfortunately, VAWA expired in 2011 and cannot provide these services again until it is reauthorized. Your senators have a chance to reauthorize VAWA, but they must become co-sponsors soon in order for the bill to be passed. Write them a letter today.
