Support the Help Separated Families Act
As our government continues to escalate its enforcement-only immigration tactics, one of the biggest casualties is children. Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) rounds up and detains undocumented immigrants without thought to whether they have children who depend on them. The Help Separated Families Act would help children who are placed in the child welfare system as a result of immigration enforcement by ensuring that children can be placed in the care of family and have a chance to be reunified with their parents. Currently, there are over 5,000 citizen children in foster care because their parents have been detained or removed. These children are at risk of being permanently separated from their families. This legislation is necessary if we are a nation that values families and children.
Please urge your Members of Congress to support the Help Separated Families Act of 2012 and keep our families together.
