Dear President Obama, I urge you to exercise your full executive power to end the Immigration & Customs Enforcement programs that provide for local enforcement of federal immigration law. These programs are not a solution to our broken immigration system: they tear families apart and contribute to racial profiling, vigilantism, and a fear of law enforcement that threatens the safety of all our communities. I believe all human beings should be treated with respect and compassion, and no person should be dehumanized because of their immigration status. In the face of rising anti-immigrant sentiments in our country, Arizona’s SB 1070 should be heard as a warning bell. Please act now to end these programs - before more states follow the path of Arizona. Standing on the side of love with immigrant families,
