Oppose the Death Penalty for Troy Davis

Troy Davis will be executed for a crime he did not commit.  The Georgia authorities have set the execution date for September 21, 2011 at 7pm EDT. The situation is dire. Mr. Davis has exhausted all his appeals, and his life is now in the hands of the Georgia State Board of Pardons and Paroles. They are due to hear his plea for clemency on Monday, September 19, 2011.

Mr. Davis' case is cloaked in serious doubt. Seven of the nine witnesses that originally testified against him have since recanted or changed their testimony, and there is a lack of phyisical evidence linking him to the crime. Yet, the state of Georgia continues to turn a blind eye. Send a letter to Georgia Parole Board today and tell them that the risk of executing an innocent man cannot be tolerated!
