Rising Poverty Rates are Unacceptable

Please ask members of Congress to follow the President’s recommendations to focus on solutions that create jobs, protect low-income programs, find savings in areas where there is wasteful spending, including the military budget, and increase revenues from fair sources.  We strongly recommend that you use your state’s new poverty, child poverty, uninsurance, and child uninsurance statistics next to the sentences below: “In our state, the proportion of poor and uninsured people is also painfully high, and unemployment has skyrocketed.”
