Take action for wolves. Send a message to the state legislature

The state legislature is in session and Washington’s wolves need your help today.

Send a message for Washington's wolves to your legislators as they consider the wolf bills remaining in the state legislature.

Urge your representative to support bills that promote wolf recovery in Washington State and that fund non-lethal tools and livestock owner compensation measures, and to oppose bills that undermine Washington's wolf recovery plan. The wolf plan is our best shot at fully recovering wolves in our state. The non-lethal conflict prevention measures in the plan need to be funded. More about the bills.

You can also call the legislative hotline, 1-800-562-6000. Or find your legislator here.

Thank you for taking action for Washington’s wolves!

Overview:
  • Washington’s Wolf Conservation and Management Plan is balanced and science-based and developed by a wide variety of interests. The legislature should uphold the plan and allow it work. Bills that undermine the plan should be opposed.
  • An important part of the wolf plan is funding efforts to prevent conflicts between wolves and livestock. Conservation Northwest supports efforts to create a dedicated funding source for conflict prevention. We contributed our own funds to the effort last year by sponsoring the state’s first range rider pilot program. It was a success and we need to build off that success and expand the program.
