UK, US, and France - Bring in Aid Now

The United States, France, and the UK have rightly deployed ships, helicopters, cargo planes, and other life-saving equipment and supplies to the seas and countries neighboring Burma. Yet, those materials sit by almost completely unused as the Burmese people perish of thirst, hunger, and disease. These countries have stated that they are waiting for "permission" from China and the Burmese regime.

The UK, US, and France have done the right thing, trying to work through the UN. They cannot be blamed for the intransigence of Burma's regime and China.

But, now is the time to act. Please send a message to Prime Minister Brown, President Bush, and President Sarkozy calling on them to stop waiting for the Chinese and Burmese regimes' approval and send in relief immediately.

Dear Prime Minister Brown, President Bush, and President Sarkozy

We appeal to you help the millions who are people at risk in Burma. The Burmese military regime has restricted aid delivery to the point that disease and starvation are imminent. It has been 10 days since the cyclone hit and there has only been a trickle of aid. There are at least 1.5 million people are at risk of dying if massive aid does not go in now. Now is the time to act - You have helicopters, ships and supplies ready and waiting. Stop waiting for China or the Burmese regime's approval and send aid now. The regime has shown that they care little for their people and will do whatever possible to maintain power, even if it means the deaths of hundreds of thousands. The world sat by and watched 800,000 die in Rwanda, we shouldn't stand by now. The Burmese military regime has already destroyed 3200 ethnic minority villages and now they are blocking badly needed aid to cyclone victims. Please deliver aid now!
