Join us in December to Protect the Gulf of Mexico!

Will you be in Florida, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, or Alabama in December?

If so, please join Food & Water Watch and our allies at one of the upcoming public hearings to protect the Gulf of Mexico from the dirty and dangerous new industry of ocean fish farming.

Join the growing movement to protect our valuable Gulf!

Fish farming in our oceans, also known as "open ocean aquaculture," is a largely untested industry in the United States that could threaten our ocean environment, the safety of the fish we eat, and the livelihoods of coastal fishing communities. Unfortunately, the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council wants to approve a plan to allow this industry in Gulf waters as soon as January 2008. These public hearings could be our last chance to ensure that the interests of fisher men and women, coastal businesses, consumers, and the environment are being protected.

The good news is that we've already had a positive impact. Now, we just need to pack the rooms in December!

Sign up below to RSVP or to get more information about the public hearing you're interested in attending. And of course, please contact us at 202-797-6552 or fish(at)fwwatch(dot)org with any questions. We look forward to seeing you there!
