Tell Sacramento: Utility Special Interests Don't Trump the Rest of Us
Perhaps you read this recent article about how rooftop solar is costing BILLIONS!!??
Then you should know it’s a lot of horsemalarkey. Utilities are using mighty fuzzy math: they overstate the numbers and leave a big piece out of the cost-benefit analysis: the benefits.
The fact is, they have undermined every other way for rooftop solar systems to receive fair value for their generation. The very premise of distributed generation--the ability for anyone but profit-driven utilities to have a say in our energy future--is at stake.
But here’s the thing: there’s a huge incoming freshman class in the legislature in Sacramento, and the utilities are working them hard. We can't let these cooked numbers go unanswered. Bottom line, rooftop solar is good for California ratepayers, powers our economy, and offers hope in the fight against climate change.
Help us tell Sacramento that the self-serving interests of a few utilities should not outshine the rest of us.
