Climate Crisis Conference
From the worst drought in decades to Hurricane Sandy to record-breaking temperatures around the world, the signs are everywhere. We are not just dealing with "global warming" -- we are facing a full-blown "climate crisis." And yet not one word was devoted to this emergency in the last election campaign.
World Can't Wait believes that "humanity and the planet come first," and only our resistance can change this disastrous direction. That's why we have joined with many other groups to organize a full-day, action-oriented conference on Saturday, February 16 - to learn and to embark on a movement for the transformations so urgently needed. You will hear an in-depth presentation of the climate science, a panel exploring reasons why that science is not being acted on, and workshops where you can engage with others to change that.
We urge all members and friends of World Can't Wait to register for this event today and make a personal commitment to tackling this climate disaster! Register for the February 16 Chicago Climate Crisis Conference at:
The conference is being held at IIT Kent College of Law in Chicago's West Loop - with easy access by public transportation and affordable parking. Please take time to read more about it here.
As we all know, the success of any grass roots movement for change depends on social networking. Please use our Facebook event page to "join" this event and invite LOTS of friends!
