Chicago: 11 Years Of Guantanamo!? Shut It Down Now!

We will meet in Federal Plaza at 12 noon for a rally and Press Conference.

Each participating organization will have a photo of one of the 55 detainees who have been cleared for release yet remain at Guantanamo. We will read the names of the 166 people who remain at Guantanamo and each organization will say a few words about the person their group is representing. Our aim is to put a human face on those that remain and challenge the U.S. Government's efforts to get the people of this country to forget them and worse to see them as not worthy of justice.

We will demand that Guantanamo be shut down and demand an end to U.S. indefinite detention and torture everywhere. We will challenge people of conscience to step forward to resist and oppose these crimes of our government!
