WHY SHOULD THE RIGHT - WINGERS in Congress set the terms for women's lives? Why should the “tea-baggers” and racist lunatics be the only ones protesting in the streets? We need an uncompromising movement of people standing up for women right now!

NO “COMMON GROUND” WITH THOSE WHO WANT TO KILL US. THE RESPONSE WE NEED IS AN OUTPOURING OF RESISTANCE!
Last spring, after Dr. George Tiller was gunned down by one of their own, the anti-abortion movement was emboldened in its threats towards abortion providers and patients. Now, their movement has done what even the reactionary Bush regime was not able to: a sweeping ban on abortion that goes far beyond the terrible restrictions of the Hyde Amendment we’ve accepted for so long.

ABORTION IS NOT MURDER. FETUSES ARE NOT BABIES. WOMEN ARE NOT INCUBATORS!
A whole generation of women and men have been kept in the dark from these basic facts, and left disarmed in the face of this anti-women movement that will not stop nor find “common ground” with women’s right to control the most basic of decisions affecting their lives.

IN SUPPORT OF DR. LEROY CARHART

The latest tactic of the anti-abortion movement is to deploy a special abortion ban for the state of Nebraska. The bill, called the "Abortion Pain Prevention Act" (Legislative Bill 1103), will effectively ban Dr. Carhart from providing late abortions. The Nebraska Attorney General, Jon Bruning, spoke at the January 30 anti-abortion rally in Lincoln, telling a crowd of 5,000 people that he would "eagerly defend such a measure if it became law."

Dr. Carhart has been identified as the new "Target #1" of the anti-abortion movement. World Can't Wait was previously involved in the pro-choice mobilization in August 2009 to defend Dr. Carhart's clinic against planned protests organized by the anti-abortion, anti-women organization Operation Rescue, and submitted a petition signed by 1,249 people to the Nebraska Attorney General in December 2009.

SEND a letter to the editor in support of Dr. Carhart, and against this outrageous new attack.
