America's unemployed need good jobs so they can feed their families – and the taxes they will pay with the money they earn will help restore the economy of this nation. It is morally unacceptable for us to watch millions suffer because of unemployment and underemployment. We can do something. NOW.

The American Jobs Act, proposed by President Obama, includes solutions that have been endorsed by both Parties in the past. It will help bolster the middle class and American small business. It offers tax incentives and breaks to the Americans who need them most. It isn't perfect. But unemployed Americans can't wait for perfect. Everyone deserves to work and earn a fair wage, this bill is a step in the right direction to create more jobs and stimulate the economy.

Every faith tradition believes in the dignity of work and the right of each person to earn a fair wage. Let's let our Representatives know that, as people of faith, we want them to do everything they can to put politics aside and put America back to work.
