Interfaith Worker Justice

This is what religion looks like.

Offer your prayers for the President and members of Congress as they look to reform our broken immigration system

The White House and Congress plan to work out a comprehensive immigration reform program. As people of faith, we recognize and honor the social and economic contributions made by immigrant workers. We urge the President and Congress to push for reform that honors the dignity of our immigrant brothers and sisters. All workers must be treated with dignity and justice. When we allow immigrant workers to be exploited, we lower the standards for all workers, native born and immigrant, current and future.

"Immigrants come to the U.S. to work, and yet when they are kept in the shadows without a path to citizenship, they are easily exploited and undermine standards for all workers," said IWJ's Executive Director Kim Bobo. "Thus, it is right morally and economically to create a clear and quick path to citizenship for immigrants.  We should “welcome the immigrant” now."

Join people of faith across the country and offer your prayers for Congress and the President.

All religions believe in justice. As people of faith, we pray for government officials, that they may have the courage to create comprehensive immigration reform that promotes the Common Good and strengthens worker protections for immigrant workers —often abused by their employers because of the immigration status.

Holy Qur'an Verse 55:9
But those who entered the city and the faith before them love those who flee unto them for refuge, and find in their breasts no need for that which has been given to them, but prefer (the refugees) above themselves though poverty become their lot. And who is saved from his own avarice—such are they who are successful.
