Empowers Grant:Project Katrina

Like you, we at DemocracyInAction remember when the pictures started coming in. Homes completely covered in water. People wading through the floods to get to shelter. And the shelter . . . riots, guns, and no help in sight.

It's been two years since Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast, and, thanks to many nonprofits, community groups, and concerned citizens, help is in sight. We'd like to help the groups working on the ground in the aftermath of Katrina make the most of their efforts.

DemocracyInaction has always striven to level the playing field for nonprofits. Why pour money into technology that you could be pumping into programs and resources?

We're offering another round of DIA Empowers Grants to commemorate the two year anniversary of Katrina and to highlight and support the efforts of the nonprofits working to revive the Gulf Coast. Grantees will receive one free year of DemocracyInaction's advocacy platform, Salsa.

Details

DIA Empowers will award grants to three organizations (groups of all sizes are encouraged to apply).

The grant will waive the entire set-up fee for our full platform of services (excluding chapters). We will also waive the monthly fees.

Whether an advocacy campaign, fundraising campaign, or recruitment drive, DIA will help you make it happen!

Our Focus

DemocracyInAction is committed to supporting organizations that share our ecological and social justice values. We will select those three groups that we believe have the ability to make the biggest impact and to most effectively use the tools we provide.

Rules

The deadline for submissions is October 15th.

For a full list of Salsa tools please visit our service fees page.

Selected organizations will be required to display the DemocracyInAction grant recipient logo on all webpages and email created through Salsa.
